🌑 (Jay's POV)
The noise faded slowly.
Gunshots. Shouting. Chaos.
All of it dissolved into silence.
But the silence didn't feel calm.
It felt heavy.
My hands were free now.
But the faint marks on my wrists still burned.
A reminder.
Of everything that just happened.
I looked up.
Keifer was already looking at me.
Not intensely.
Not suspicious.
Just... making sure.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"I'm fine."
This time, I meant it.
At least enough for him to believe it.
His eyes dropped briefly to my wrists.
His jaw tightened slightly.
"They shouldn't have—"
"I'm okay," I repeated softly.
A pause.
Then he nodded.
Not fully convinced.
But not pushing either.
A little distance away, Yuri stood quietly.
Watching.
But not questioning.
Everything felt... normal.
Too normal.
"I think I should go home," I said.
Keifer looked at me immediately.
"Yeah... you should."
No argument.
No resistance.
That made it easier.
"I'll go with Angelo," I added.
Yuri nodded slightly. "That's better."
Keifer exhaled slowly, running a hand through his hair.
"Text me when you reach."
I gave a small nod.
"I will."
A pause.
Then—
"Be safe," he said.
Something about that made my chest tighten.
Just for a second.
"You too," I replied quietly.
⚡ (Yuri's POV)
She looked exhausted.
That's all.
Nothing more.
"Get some rest," I said.
She nodded.
No questions.
No assumptions.
Just silence.
🌑 (Jay's POV)
I turned.
Walking away from them.
From the chaos.
From everything.
This time—
No one stopped me.
And I didn't look back.
Because this time—
They weren't supposed to.
